Following the given conditions (#stayhome), the Laboratory of Knowledge & Intelligent Computing (KIC-Lab) of the University of Ioannina, Greek partner of QNeST Project, organized an online workshop aimed at the presentation of the ICT tools developed by the project team, as well as at the joint planning of two thematic tourist routes in the area of Arta and Thesprotia.

In the workshop, QNeST branded stakeholders, interested entrepreneurs and representatives of local authorities were invited and participated.

The workshop took place on Tuesday, 31.03.2020 at 6.30pm, hosted on the servers of the laboratory, and the attendees participated either through their PC/laptop or their mobile phone.

Prof. Chrysostomos Stylios, project manager, welcomed the participants and gave the floor to the members of the project team.

Τhe team made a brief introduction to the objectives and goals of the project, mentioning the contribution to highlighting the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the project area, promoting products and services related to the Mediterranean diet (olive oil, fish, wine), and the proposals for advanced areas’ accessibility taking into account the different categories of visitors.

The experts explained that the ICT tools developed by the Knowledge & Intelligence Laboratory, offer direct communication between businesses and operators, promotion of events and activities, promotion the businesses involved in QNeST, user-friendly environment for viewing local businesses, and demonstration of proposed routes and areas of interest, as well as the team presented in detail the social networking platform.

The discussion followed the presentations and demonstration actions were quite useful and constructive and served the purpose of planning two tourist routes in the area of Arta and Thesprotia, which will contribute to highlighting the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the aforementioned areas. During the event, the participants had the opportunity to share experiences, knowledge and exchange views on promoting quality sustainable tourism.
